Cooking Matters for Childcare Professionals (CMCCP) is a 2-day intensive training program offered four times each year to early childcare providers across the state of Georgia. Open Hand Cooking Matters works in partnership with Quality Care for Children to target locations that serve SNAP-eligible individuals such as Head Start and CACFP participant locations.
Through interactive activities and hands-on cooking, providers learn about…
…making healthy foods more appealing to young children,
…boosting their knowledge of connections between child diet and development, and
…utilizing best practices for healthy and budget-friendly menu planning.
Open Hand Cooking Matters supports program participants beyond the two days of training via follow-up menu reviews and feedback up to 8 weeks post-CMCCP training. Childcare providers also are eligible for 10 CEUs upon completion of the program.
